Position Summary

At Secarus, a Network Administrator is a mid-level, full-time, salaried position responsible for maintaining the design, integrity, and operation of customer-facing network infrastructure, hosted, and cloud environments as well as the company's internal systems.

The Network Operations Technician also provides technical assistance to team members with system, network, and telephony requests.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain the ConnectWise Automate remote monitoring and management system including: update agent scripts, respond to notifications and alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review
  • Provide IT support relating to issues with the internal systems and network infrastructure
  • Implement, administer, and support Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, IIS, and others
  • Implement, administer, and support virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, and others
  • Implement, administer, and support client networks: WAN and LAN connectivity, switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VLANs, and security using Adtran, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti Unifi, and others
  • Implement, administer, and support hosted and cloud infrastructure solutions using Microsoft Azure and Office 365, CentreStack, and others
  • Implement, administer, and support disaster recovery solutions using StorageCraft, eFolder, SolarwindsMSP, and others
  • Remote access solution support: ConnectWise Control, VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
  • Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure
  • Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Escalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels
  • Business and brand awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for entering time and expenses for work as service or project tickets in ConnectWise Manage as it occurs
  • Understand processes in ConnectWise Manage and Automate by completing assigned training materials and blueprints on the ConnectWise University
  • Work through a daily schedule in ConnectWise Manage that has been established through the dispatch process
  • Work through project tickets and phases in ConnectWise Manage as assigned by a Project Manager
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry

 

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required

  • Possess and/or obtain Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP as required
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer-care
  • Diagnosis skills of technical issues
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly
  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
  • Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • A valid driver’s license and US Passport with ability to travel to client sites, when required
  • Ability to climb stairs and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

 

Previous Experience Requirements

  • BA/BS, preferably in managed information systems, business administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of related IT experience.
